Taveuni is home to many famous dive sites, including Rainbow Reef and the Great White Wall, both of which are just minutes boat ride away from Taveuni Dive.

Rainbow Passage

A submerged reef with a depth ranging from 15-120 feet, Rainbow Reef has a variety of soft corals, and large bommies can be seen at the end of the dive. The fish life includes a variety of pelagics such as barracuda, mackerel, travelly, white tip sharks, the occasional leopard shark, stone fish, clown trigger, long nose hawkfish, clown fish, anamones, damsel fish along with a variety of butterfly fish.

Marine life includes: Soft corals, tube corals (grey), nudie branches, flat worms, feather stars and sea whips

The Great White Wall

This site has an outer wall with a tunnel at 20 feet and another dramatic white soft coral covered wall wall at 90 feet dropping away to 240 feet.

Marine life includes: Mostly white soft corals with a few large sea whips sticking off the end of the wall, fish life includes a variety of pelagics ranging from the occasional barracuda to mackerel, eagle rays, manta rays, also on the top of the wall is a variety of reef fish primarily coral trout, lion fish and a small variety of hard coral

The Purple Wall

This site has an outer wall with a reef top starting at 20 feet, dropping away to about 200 foot plus. The wall is covered with purple soft corals, sea whips and large gorgonia fans.

Marine life includes: Includes a variety of pelagics ranging from barracuda to travelly (jacks), mackerel, sea fans, variety of nudie branches, anthiases, fusiliers, basslets, white tip sharks and manta rays occasionally

Fish Factory

A wall with depths ranging from 20-500 feet and a variety of soft coral on the top and side of the wall. Tons of fish, occasional sharks and lots of pelagics cruising by.

Marine life includes: Schools of parrot fish, rump headed, spanish, mackerel, angel fish, travelly’s, cod, moray eel, manta rays occasionally, also stone fish and leaf scorpion

Mini White Wall

A submerged reef with a mini wall and a depth ranging from 30-100 feet covered with mostly white soft coral. There are also a large variety of other soft corals.

Marine life includes: Sharks, barracudas, Jacks, stone fish, snapper, leopard sharks often seen, variety of nudie branches and Spanish dancers
Best time to dive: Rising tide

Annie's Bommies

A submerged reef with big bommies allowing divers to weave between them at a depth ranging from 15-70 feet. Includes plenty of soft coral and a variety of hard coral.

Marine life includes: Schools of fusiliers, basslets, anthiases, Jack travelly, moray eels, leopard sharks occasionally, stingrays and pipefish, are often seen.

The Zoo

Has a depth ranging from 30-300 feet with average visibility of 70-80 feet. Includes tons of fish, mackerel, barracuda, jack travelly, sharks (usually in schools), pelagics and there is a large range of soft corals.

Marine life includes: Marine life include moray eels, manta rays, potato cod, fusiliers, basslets, anthiases, flat worms and nudie branches

Rainbow Passage 1

A submerged reef with depths ranging from 25-120 feet covered with a large variety of soft coral, sea fans, whips, schools of fusiliers, basslets, anthiases and a few bommies towards the end.

Marine life includes: Has a variety of hawk fish, pipe fish, clown trigger, schools of Spanish mackerel, barracudas, stone fish, nudie branches, Spanish dancer and clown fish.

Great Yellow Wall

Description: An atoll

Marine life includes: Includes beautiful coral, fans, whips, sharks, barracuda, travelly, tuna, mackerel, unicorn, puffers, anemonies and fusiliers.

The Edge

An atoll that has a vertical drop from 30-1000 feet plus.

Marine life includes: Has a combination of soft and hard coral, barracuda, unicorn fish, clown fish, anemones, clown trigger fish, groupers, fusiliers and occasionally white tip sharks.
Best time to dive: Falling tide

Golden Dream

An atoll with a vertical drop from 15-1000 feet plus with a mild current which opens up the Golden soft coral, also cannons at 50 feet.

Marine life includes: Golden soft coral, sea whips, anemones, clown fishes, unicorn fish, occasionally schools of barracuda and white tip sharks.
Best time to dive: Rising tide

Noel's Wall

An atoll 15 miles off Matagi Island with a vertical drop from 30-1000 feet plus cannons and a swim-through at 30 feet with beautiful hard coral at 30-40 feet. Most famous for soft corals and pelagics.

Marine life includes: Plenty of soft coral, fusiliers, schools of barracudas, occasionally surgeon fish, schools of bronze whalers, golden anthiase, unicorn fish, schools of jack trevally at all times and queen angels are seen quite often.

Corner

Located at the tip (Corner) at Laucala Barrier reef ranging from 30-70 feet to the top of the wall and a vertical drop off, with a variety of soft coral and sea whips on the wall.

Marine life includes: Clown trigger fish, unicorn, anemone fish, soft coral, fusiliers, surgeon fish, sea whips, sea fans, nudie branches and Spanish dancer, occasionally schools of sharks and barracudas.

Motui 1

An atoll 8 miles off Matagi Island with wall dives and depths ranging from 15-1000 feet plus vertical drop off with a variety of soft corals, long sea whips on the side of the walls and tons of fish life everywhere

Marine life includes: Fish life of every kind and sharks, humb headed parrotfish, tons of soft coral and beautiful hard coral at 25-30 feet.
Best time to dive: Either falling or rising tide

Motui 11

Approximately 500 feet in distance from Motui 1 with almost the same reef structure, whereas Motui 11 has more beautiful hard coral at the top of the wall

Marine life includes: Includes schools of fish every kind, sharks, occasionally soft and hard corals, surgeon fish everywhere, long sea whips, nudie branches and flat worms seen quite often.

Ledge

A submerged reef with depths ranging from 25-130 feet and a surrounding ledge at 45 feet with a variety of soft coral, sea whips, flat worms. A couple of lion fish are often seen hovering over the side of the ledge and the site is also famous for soft coral dives.

Marine life includes: Also includes emperor angel, clown triggerfish and titan trigger fish.
Best time to dive: Either falling or rising tide

Cross Channel

Located on Motui atoll, this has a vertical drop off at 15-1000 feet plus and is famous for black corals with long nose hawkfish and occasionally beautifully untouched hard corals at 35 feet.

Marine life includes: Includes soft coral, sea fans, sea whips, sharks, tuna, travelly, king mackerel, tons of fusiliers and carport anemones (rare ones).

Ringgolds (Coral Garden)

Submerged reef on the inside of Ringgold’s Reef with a depth ranging from 15-90 feet, it has healthy hard corals, large variety of pelagics, and famous for hard coral dive.

Marine life includes: Occasional sweet lips, angelfish, clown trigger fish, fusiliers, moray eels, and white tip sharks.
Best time to dive: Either falling or rising tide

Motui Latai

An atoll 10 miles off Matagi with a depth ranging from 10-200 feet plus. Has gradual slopes with tunnels penetrating into the reef with beautiful sun rays through the top opening of the reef also has a wide variety of hard corals and fish of all kinds normally in schools.

Marine life includes: Sharks often seen, turtles, variety of hard coral, schools of sweet lips, travelly, eagle rays, clown trigger fish, sea whips, and variety of beautiful brain coral

Sangrila

Located on Welagilala “BARRIER REEF” with a variety of coral heads and pinnacles. Most of the coral heads have swim through and tons of sweet lips as their habitats, schools of hump headed parrotfish and a variety of pipefish often seen. It has a depth ranging from 15-90 foot slope.

Marine life includes: Includes a variety of nudie branches, flat worms and scorpion fish seen occasionally.

Mariah's Cove

Located on the coast of Qamea with depths ranging from 15-80 feet. Best for second dives and perfect night dives. A little ledge at 15-30 feet covered with variety of soft red coral (called Red Wall) is also accessible here.

Marine life includes: Includes wrasses, blennies, puffer fish, garden eels, sea whips, parrot fish, butterfly fishes, variety of nudie branches, Spanish dancers, moray eel and occasionally soft coral

Still Waters

A submerged reef off the coast of Qamea with depths ranging from 15-100 feet, famous for soft coral dives.

Marine life includes: Variety of soft coral, tons of fusiliers, anthiases basslets, occasionally white tip sharks, nudie branches (flat worms) and schools of barracuda.
Best time to dive: Rising tide
For photographers: Mainly wide angle, also perfect for close up and macro
Nukubalavu

Located on the coast of Qamea with depths ranging from 10-120 feet with gradual slope, beautiful fish life and a variety of soft coral. If dived with a mild current it is a perfect night dive

Marine life includes: Moray eels, variety of nudie branches, Spanish dancers, blennies angel fish, stone fish, hawk fish, variety of soft coral with schools of jack trivially, Spanish mackerel and barracuda with a slight current.

Mulomulo

Located on the coast off Qamea with depths ranging from 10-120 feet with gradual slopes and beautiful sea fans, soft coral.

Marine life includes: A variety of nudie branches, flat worms, sea whips, moray eels, fusiliers, wrasses, white tip sharks and napoleon wrasses found occasionally

Gorgonian Garden

This reef has a vertical drop-off with depts ranging 15-200 feet, it has a variety of sea fans and soft coral, more fish life and shark sightings.A mild current from the beginning to the end of the dive.

Marine life includes: Includes sea fans, tons of soft coral, barracudas, tuna, sharks (in schools), fusiliers, anamones, sweet lips, travelly, anthiases and basslets

Bonnie's Boulder

Located between Laucala and Matagi, big bonnies which divers weave between them. It has depths ranging from 15-75 feet with a variety of soft corals on the overhangs and untouched hard coral on the seabed.

Marine life includes: Variety of nudie branches, occasionally sea snakes, white tip sharks, leopard sharks at all times, red anamones, stone fish hawk fish, emperor angel and dragon masses.
Best time to dive: Best for rising tide but can be dived during falling tide

Backside

Located on the North side of Boulders which is about 100 feet away with depths ranging from 15-75 feet. Big coral heads, a swim-through and a variety of soft coral on the overhangs.

Marine life includes: Puffer fishes, trunk fish, surgeon fish, variety of nudie branches, trigger fish, stone fish, file fish, red anemones, clown fish, soft coral, sea fans and occasionally sleeping leopard shark
Best time to dive: Either falling or rising tide

Windseye Passage

This is a passage at the Laucala barrier reefs with depths ranging from 15-130 feet with gradual slopes at the beginning of the dive and beautiful pinnacles towards the end.

Marine life includes: Clown trigger at all times, garden eels, angel fish, anthiases, scorpion fish at all times, stone fish, red anamones, leopard sharks, variety of Spanish dancers with hard and soft coral

Joe's Reef

Located outside Laucala barrier reef with depths ranging from 15-100 feet, It has a variety of hard soft corals. A few coral heads which come up to about 15 feet and which divers weave between. Perfect for safety stops.

Mini Yellow Wall

This site is located outside the Laucala barrier reef with depths ranging from 15-200 feet. It has gradual slopes and a mini wall from 60-100 feet covered with yellow soft coral.

Marine life includes: Wrasses, parrot fish, tuna, sweet lips, moray and sharks and occasionally soft coral
